We are raising a new generation of space inventors

On the first day of the school
, the team of the 435nm project, which is part of the Frontiers of Science Guild portfolio,
presented a new training program in space biotechnology for students
Gymnasium of Skolkovo.
The main purpose of the meeting was
not only to talk about the new course, but also to engage the students in interdisciplinary
project work related to the creation of closed space biospheres.
In the future, such systems will become the basis of life support for long-term missions to
The moon and Mars.
Project Leader 435nm Alexander Shayenko shared his impressions of communicating with schoolchildren:
I am very pleased that children are interested in space biotechnology. The guys actively participated in the discussion, answered questions, showing a wide range of knowledge, amazing for such a young age. The most active students received gifts from us. We hope that we will be able to work together with the interested guys on real space projects.
The 435nm project
is developing highly efficient photobioreactors, installations in
which microalgae absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, purifying
water and creating conditions for autonomous human existence in space. Previously
, the development had already received wide coverage in the federal media and was recognized
as one of the most promising in the field of space biotechnology.
The new educational
program, presented at the Skolkovo Gymnasium, will allow students to immerse
themselves in real scientific and engineering activities that combine biology, physics and
engineering, disciplines necessary to create future space ecosystems.
