Frontiers of Science awarded prizes to astronomy students of the Physics Faculty of Moscow State University

The Frontiers of Science Scientific and Technical Guild awarded students of the Astronomical Department of the Lomonosov Moscow State University Faculty of Physics for outstanding theses. The ceremony was held at the P. K. Sternberg State Astronomical Institute. (Traffic police OFFICER) MSU.


The awards were given to graduates whose research was recognized as the best based on the results of an expert assessment. The jury took into account the novelty of the scientific results, the independence and personal contribution of the author, the completeness of the work and its readiness for publication in peer-reviewed publications.


Laureates and their works:

  • Kristina Lyzenko — diploma on the topic "The influence of the discoloration of a star and the structure of the atmosphere of an exoplanet on the results of the interpretation of light curves of transits".
  • Ekaterina Nyagina is a study devoted to individual methods for determining atmospheric parameters and the chemical composition of stars with ultra—low metallicity.
  • Alexey Fraerman — the work "Forecasting the orientation parameters of spacecraft, taking into account the operation of control systems."


Galina Malygina, co—founder of the Frontiers of Science Guild, emphasized that supporting talented students is a contribution to the future of fundamental science.:


We want talented students of the Astronomy Department of the Moscow State University Faculty of Physics to see the prospects of their ideas and be able to bring them to life, be it fundamental discoveries or technologies for space.


Head of the Department of Experimental Astronomy, Faculty of Physics, Moscow State University, Head of the Department Traffic policeman Alexey Rastorguev noted the importance of the moment for teachers:


These young people, our students — will soon pour “fresh blood” into the research teams of academic institutions and universities, and thinking about it, you begin to better understand the importance and value of your work.


The Frontiers of Science Guild was founded in 2024 by the creators of the Motorika company and is engaged in supporting fundamental science, as well as developing projects in the field of space research and technological entrepreneurship.
