On the channel "Russia 1" they talked about the Russian photobioreactor for space bases

The federal
TV channel Rossiya 1 in the program "Morning of Russia" devoted a story to the development of a photobioreactor
created to ensure the vital activity of the crews of lunar and Martian
stations. The project is being implemented with the participation of the Frontiers
of Science Scientific and Technological Guild.
Alexander Shayenko, PhD, Head of the
435nm project, and Yuri Vlasov, Business Development Consultant at the Frontiers
of Science Guild, answered the journalists' questions.
The
plot presented the principles of the installation, based on the use
of microalgae that absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen. Earlier
, the developers reported on the record productivity of the system — up to 18 grams
of biomass per liter of water per day, which is several times higher than its foreign
counterparts. This efficiency makes it possible to significantly reduce the amount of water and
equipment needed to support the life of one cosmonaut.
The project
is primarily focused on long—term space stations, but it is also
of interest for terrestrial applications, such as air purification in
offices and production sites.
